Ensure proper candle care by trimming the wick to 1/4inch before lighting each time, letting the wax melt to the edge of the glass each burn, and never burning more than four hours at a time. When you reach the last 1/2 inch of wax in the jar, you should stop burning your candle. You can pour the liquid wax into a wax melter or use it under a candle warmer to get the last remaining scent out of your candle.
Once you reach the last 1/2 inch of wax in the jar, you should no longer burn the candle. If it is already liquid, you can pour the liquid wax into a garbage receptacle and clean the jar out with rubbing alcohol.
If the wax is solid, you can use a candle warmer to heat the wax until liquid and follow the steps from above.
If you choose to reuse the jar, do not put any food or edible items in the jar, as it is not food safe.
